Cornelia is an eleven year old girl living a very lonely life in New York City.  Her mother is a world famous concert pianist.  She rarely sees her mother and has trouble relating to the other students at her school.  Her life is changed when her new neighbor’s dog, Mister Kinyatta, escapes from the apartment and Cornelia helps to lure him back inside with a bag of cupcakes.  Once inside the apartment Cornelia meets Virginia Somerset.  Virginia is an elderly writer who tells Cornelia stories from her youth when she traveled the world and had very adventurous and exciting times with her three sisters.  Join Cornelia on this imaginative journey around the world to Morocco, Paris, England, and India with the hilarious Somerset sisters.  You’ll definitely be glad you did!

Visit the author’s website for more information about the book, a picture of the real Mr. Kinyatta, an author bio., and links to sites picturing the different locations around the world that the Somerset Sisters visited.
